There are two ways to a work permit: through an employer, or through your own company. Each case — company capital, residence history, Turkish employees, profit and job title — is assessed on its own, so the safest route is chosen before anything is filed.

How much is a work permit?
About USD 500 through your own company (on top of registration), or TRY 25,000 through an employer.
How many Turkish employees are needed?
Five per foreign partner if you have never held Turkish residence; one if you have. The first year can be issued without actual hires, but by the second year at least one is required. The startup route needs none. Rules change, and every case is assessed individually.
Can I get one without an employer?
Yes — through your own company.
Can my family come too?
Yes. Once one family member holds a work permit, the spouse and children under 18 can get family residence, and children can attend public and private schools.
Can I travel with a work permit?
Yes. Long absences can affect renewal, so talk to us before a long trip.
