Steps to Obtain Turkish Citizenship Through Investment 🇹🇷💼

After making an investment worth at least $400,000 in Turkey—most commonly through real estate purchase—and committing not to sell the property for at least three years, you can apply for Turkish citizenship.

Below are the documents and steps required for Iranian citizens.

⚠️ Important: When purchasing the property, you must explicitly state at the Land Registry Office that the purchase is for the purpose of applying for citizenship.

Step 1: Obtain a Certificate of Eligibility

The first step is to obtain an official certificate from the Land Registry Directorate confirming that the purchased property qualifies you for Turkish citizenship and that there is no legal obstacle.

Required Documents:

  1. Passport translation (notarized and certified in Turkish)

  2. Title deed (TAPU) of the property, registered in the applicant’s name

  3. Bank payment receipts showing that the property payment was transferred from the applicant’s account to the seller’s account

  4. Official property valuation report (Ekspertiz Raporu) issued by government-authorized experts, verifying that the property value meets the legal threshold

  5. Non-sale commitment notarized document showing that the property won’t be sold for three years

  6. Biometric photos of the applicant and family members (if applying for them as well)

  7. Turkish tax ID number, which can be obtained from the local tax office

  8. Citizenship application form, issued by the Turkish Civil Registry

Step 2: Apply for Residence Permit Based on Investment

After obtaining the certificate of eligibility, you should apply for a residence permit through investment.

Step 3: Submit Citizenship Application

Once your residence permit is issued, visit the Directorate General of Population and Citizenship Affairs (Nüfus ve Vatandaşlık İşleri Genel Müdürlüğü) to submit your citizenship application.

Final Steps:

After approval, you will receive your Turkish National ID card, and then you can apply for a Turkish passport.
